LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS
Ketcham High School is using the courts between 4:00pm
and 6:00pm on most weekdays through mid May. The club is donating their usage as a
community service project. If one wishes to support scholastic tennis
please check out our calendar in the lobby. Matches are noted in blue
ink.
COURT GATES
Players will note that many of the gates on the outdoor courts have been
locked to prohibit players from venturing out into the mud flats due to
Spring and melting snow. Tennis balls that go over the fence will have
to be collected after play. Please help us keep our courts in tip top
shape. |
OUTDOOR COURTS
The outdoor courts were up and running on March 16, breaking the old
record of April 26! JUNIOR SUMMER CAMPS
Junior summer camps (Novice, Intermediate,
Excellence) begin the week of June 29th and run for ten weeks.
They're filling up fast so be sure to call for your child's spot!
Thanks!!

INDOOR COURT RESERVATIONS THRU MAY 3rd
Indoor
courts are free to members starting May 4th. Up to that point, members
who reserve indoor courts, and decide to go outside due to nice weather
will be required to still pay the indoor court fee. Reserving a court
just in case it stops raining prevents the club from selling lessons,
court rentals and clinics.
USTA MATCHES
Weeknights, either at 6:00pm or 8:00pm, Monday through
Thursday, our women's teams will be playing from the beginning of May
through sometime in July. Men's teams will play on Saturdays at 10:00am,
generally. Match
times and teams will be posted in the club lobby. They are fun to watch
and it is a very inexpensive evening (or morning!) of friendly
entertainment!
All are welcome! |
LEAGUES & SEASON
COURTS END
The last day of leagues and season courts will be Sunday, May 3rd. Signs in the
lobby will be more specific as to what day in May your season court
ends, due to snow make-ups.
CLINICS END
SUNDAY MAY 24TH
Check signs in the club for all the other days.
Variations occur because of snow make-ups.
PARKING
Some nights, starting at 5:00pm, cones will be put
up and cars will be parked behind the barn. The parking lot will be
saved for the USTA night matches since the parking lot has lights for
safety. The cars for outside activities and 6:30pm indoor activities
will be parked behind the barn until the back lot is full.
|
INDOOR LIGHT POLICY:
MAY 4TH THRU LABOR DAY On sunny days indoor lights
will not be used between 8:30am and 5:30pm. Lights
(1/2) will only be used on overcast/rainy days during these hours.
PROPER FOOTWEAR Many players wear shoes that are
either track shoes or cross trainers. These shoes are sometimes promoted
as fine for tennis, but...they are not. The best shoes are designed for
tennis or basketball since they are designed for stopping suddenly. The
chance of injury to ankles and knees are reduced with proper footwear.
Shoes are just as important as your racquet. FRIENDS
WHO WISH TO
LEARN TENNIS New classes for new players will begin
the week of June 29th. It is an inexpensive way ($350*) to learn how to
play tennis; you will
receive a new racquet, and start on a sport for a lifetime! All students
get the full use of the club for the entire summer! Let all of your
friends know! Enrollment is limited. *Be sure to ask how you can
take 10% off the enrollment fee if paid by May 1st! |

Come
cheer on your fellow members during their USTA home matches!
Thank you, USTA Captains, for all your hard work in getting your teams
ready. |
