LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS
Ketcham High School is using the courts between 4:00pm
and 6:00pm on most weekdays. The club is donating their usage as a
community service project. If one wishes to support scholastic tennis
please check out our calendar in the lobby. Matches are noted in blue
ink.
COURT GATES
Players will note that many of the gates on the outdoor courts have been
locked to prohibit players from venturing out into the mud flats due to
Spring and melting snow. Tennis balls that go over the fence will have
to be collected after play. Please help us keep our courts in tip top
shape. |
OUTDOOR COURTS
The outdoor courts were up and running on March 12,
breaking the old record of April 26! The club is watching this new twist
in Cross Court revenue. Will opening the courts early reduce or grow revenue?
We will keep you informed. NEW RENOVATIONS!!
A new set of stairs will replace the existing
stairs by court 8. Tree stumps will be torn out, and some of the
walkways and drainage wells are being replaced and upgraded. Please try
to stay out of the mud and dirt so tracks are not made on the courts.
Thanks!!

INDOOR COURT RESERVATIONS THRU MAY 4TH
Indoor
courts are free to members starting May 5th. Up to that point, members
who reserve indoor courts, and decide to go outside due to nice weather
will be required to still pay the indoor court fee. Reserving a court
just in case it stops raining prevents the club from selling lessons,
court rentals and clinics.
USTA MATCHES
Weeknights, mostly at 8:00pm, Monday through
Thursday, our women's teams will be playing from the middle of May
through the end of July. Men's teams will play on the weekends. Match
times and teams will be posted in the club lobby. They are fun to watch!
All are welcome! |
LEAGUES & SEASON
COURTS END
The last day of most leagues will be Saturday, May
3rd.
Season courts end the same time. Signs in the
lobby will be more specific as to what day in May your season court
ends.
CLINICS END
FRIDAY MAY 23RD
Check signs in the club for all the other days.
Variations occur because of snow make-ups.
PARKING
Some nights, starting at 5:00pm, cones will be put
up and cars will be parked behind the barn. The parking lot will be
saved for the USTA night matches since the parking lot has lights for
safety. The cars for outside activities and 6:30pm indoor activities
will be parked behind the barn until the back lot is full.
|
INDOOR LIGHT POLICY:
MAY 5TH THRU LABOR DAY On sunny days indoor lights
will not be used between 8:30am and 5:30pm unless it is cloudy.
PROPER FOOTWEAR Many players wear shoes that are
either track shoes or cross trainers. These shoes are sometimes promoted
as fine for tennis, but...they are not. The best shoes are designed for
tennis or basketball since they are designed for stopping suddenly. The
chance of injury to ankles and knees are reduced with proper footwear.
Shoes are just as important as your racquet. FRIENDS
WHO WISH TO
LEARN TENNIS New classes for new players will begin
the week of June 30th. It is a low cost way ($325) to begin tennis,
receive a new racquet, and start on a sport for a lifetime. All students
get the full use of the club for the entire summer! Let all of your
friends know. Enrollment is limited. |

Come
cheer on your fellow members during their USTA home matches!
